Nasiri uses
a design expert who coordinates all parts of the styles such as; color,
proportion, balance, and historical references to create the perfect Nasiri
carpet. Nasiri uses crafts people who are taught from generations, the great
traditional designs. These are applied by hand with spontaneity and
originality. This is an integral part of carpet creation where the final.
Product enhances the overall look and feel of a room or space. Like all
great design Nasiri incorporates the fundamental elements of design to
create and enhance style in the Nasiri collection using: form, shape, line,
color, texture and pattern.
Dying
To produce
fibers of various colors to create beautifully colored carpets, a natural
dyeing process is employed, using colors extracted from plant pigments.
Naturally dyed carpets become more beautiful with time, but synthetic dyed
carpets deteriorate with time. The actual hand dying process of Nasiri’s
rugs is an integral part in the beauty of their creations. The wool is
derived from the sheep who graze the Zagros mountains and is treated by hand
throughout the entire washing process.
Weaving
Using a 100% cotton warp and weft forms the foundation of the rug
and with the wool the weavers make knots on the foundation. Each
carpet is woven on a loom with many different types of finely
knotted complex knots and strong lustrous wool. The design is
created with the wool. Using different and various color wool is
very important for texture and feel. It is important to know which
warp and weft to use, thin or thick. The wool makes the design with
each knot used. Although this is a time-consuming process, the
results warrant this traditional approach to carpet making, the
colors are rich and vibrant, the wool is high quality. This entire
process starting from the shearing of the wool to the final
exquisite creations you will see in our gallery is done by hand.
